1. Introduction

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ConnectHive platform (the "Platform"), operated by ConnectHive Limited ("ConnectHive", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17272941, registered office 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. The Platform is available to users in the United Kingdom and internationally.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to register as a creator on ConnectHive.
  • Business accounts must be registered by an individual authorised to act on behalf of that business.
  • By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

3. The ConnectHive Marketplace

ConnectHive is a marketplace that connects businesses seeking content creation services with creators who provide them. ConnectHive is not a party to the agreement between a business and a creator for the actual content creation work — that agreement is between the business and the creator. ConnectHive provides the platform, payment handling, matching, messaging, content moderation, and dispute resolution services described in these Terms.

3.1 Business Accounts

  • Businesses can post campaigns describing the content they need and a budget, browse and purchase creator services directly, review and respond to creator quotes, manage active and completed campaigns, and raise disputes if work is not delivered as described.
  • Business accounts are subject to a monthly subscription fee, the amount of which is shown during registration and may be updated from time to time with reasonable notice.
  • All campaign posts and edits are reviewed by our moderation team before becoming visible to creators.

3.2 Creator Accounts

  • Creators can list services at a price they set, submit quotes on business campaign posts, and complete work for businesses in exchange for payment.
  • All service listings, edits, and certain portfolio uploads are reviewed by our moderation team before becoming visible to businesses.
  • Creators may optionally verify their social media accounts via OAuth to display verified follower counts and reach badges on their profile.

4. Credits, Fees & Payments

4.1 Credits

Credits are ConnectHive's in-platform currency. Businesses purchase credit bundles to fund campaign postings and service purchases. Credits have a fixed monetary value as displayed at the point of purchase. Creators earn credits by completing campaigns and selling services, and can withdraw their available credit balance to a linked bank account via our payment provider, subject to a withdrawal fee and minimum withdrawal amount as shown in the Platform.

4.2 Platform Fees

When a business accepts a quote or purchases a service, ConnectHive charges a platform fee calculated as a percentage of the agreed price, based on the business's account tier as shown in the Platform. This fee is charged at the time of purchase.

When a creator completes an approved campaign, ConnectHive deducts a commission, calculated as a percentage of the agreed price, based on the creator's account tier as shown in the Platform. This commission is deducted before the remaining amount is made available to the creator.

Current fee and commission percentages are displayed within the Platform and may be updated from time to time. Any changes will apply to new transactions from the date the change takes effect.

4.3 How Payments Are Held and Released

When a business accepts a quote or purchases a service, the agreed amount (after ConnectHive's platform fee has been deducted and retained by ConnectHive) is held securely by ConnectHive on the creator's behalf. These funds are not accessible to either party while held.

  • The creator delivers the work through the Platform, within the deadline agreed for that campaign or service.
  • The business reviews the work and either approves it, requests a revision, or raises a dispute (see Section 8).
  • If the business does not respond within 48 hours of work being submitted, the work is automatically approved.
  • On approval (manual or automatic), ConnectHive deducts its commission and releases the remaining amount to the creator's available balance.

Creators can withdraw their available balance to a linked bank account via Stripe, subject to the withdrawal fee and minimum withdrawal amount shown in the Platform.

4.4 Refunds

If a business declines all quotes received on a campaign post, any quote fees paid by creators in relation to that campaign are refunded automatically. If a dispute is resolved in a business's favour (see Section 8), the relevant amount held by ConnectHive will be returned to the business's credit balance. Otherwise, credit purchases and platform fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

5. Campaigns, Quotes & Services

  • All campaign posts and service listings are reviewed by ConnectHive before going live, and may be approved, rejected, suspended, or archived at ConnectHive's discretion.
  • Businesses set an indicative budget when posting a campaign. Creators submit their own proposed price as part of their quote. Businesses and creators may negotiate via counter-offers until they reach an agreement or one party withdraws.
  • Creators may be charged a quote submission fee, as shown in the Platform, which is refunded automatically if the quote is not selected.
  • Once a quote is accepted or a service is purchased, both parties are expected to fulfil their obligations as described in the campaign post or service listing, including any agreed deadline.

6. Messaging, Deadlines & Conduct

6.1 Messaging & File Uploads

  • In-platform messaging between a business and creator becomes available once a transaction has begun (immediately for direct service purchases, or after a quote is accepted for campaign posts).
  • All communication relating to a campaign or service — including questions, clarifications, progress updates, requests for a deadline extension, and delivery of completed work — must take place through ConnectHive's in-platform messaging and file upload tools.
  • Conducting this communication on-platform ensures that, in the event of a dispute, ConnectHive's moderation team can review the full record of what was agreed and delivered.

6.2 Prohibited Conduct — Contact Details & Off-Platform Payment

  • You must not use messaging, profile content, file uploads, or any other part of the Platform to share personal contact details (including phone numbers, personal email addresses, or social media handles not already approved for display), whether or not a transaction has taken place.
  • You must not invite, request, agree to, or make any payment, or attempt to arrange any transaction, outside of the Platform — including offering or accepting work, payment, or further work "off ConnectHive" to avoid platform fees.
  • ConnectHive may use automated and manual monitoring of messages and other content to detect prohibited content under this Section 6.2.
  • Breach of this Section 6.2 is treated as a serious breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension or termination of the account(s) involved, in addition to any other action ConnectHive considers appropriate, including withholding funds related to the relevant transaction pending investigation.

Why we enforce this: ConnectHive Protected Payments protect every payment, verify every creator's identity and audience, and resolve disputes. Off-platform deals lose all of those protections for both parties.

6.3 Deadlines & Extensions

  • Creators must deliver completed work by the deadline agreed for that campaign or service, as set out in the campaign post, service listing, or as otherwise agreed during negotiation.
  • If a creator needs more time, they must request a deadline extension from the business through in-platform messaging before the original deadline passes.
  • The business may agree to or decline the extension request. Any agreed extension should be confirmed through in-platform messaging so there is a clear record of the new deadline.
  • Repeated missed deadlines without agreed extensions, or failure to communicate about a delay, may be taken into account by ConnectHive if a dispute is later raised, and may affect a creator's rating, tier progress, or account standing.

6.4 General Conduct

  • You must treat other users professionally and respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, and abusive behaviour are not permitted and may result in account suspension or termination.

7. Work Submission & Review

  • Creators submit completed work through the Platform's file upload tools, together with any delivery notes.
  • Businesses can view, save, and download submitted files before deciding whether to approve the work.
  • Businesses may approve the work, request a revision (where revisions are included), or raise a dispute as described in Section 8.
  • If the business does not respond within 48 hours of work being submitted, the work is automatically approved and funds are released as described in Section 4.3.

8. Disputes

If a business is not satisfied with completed work, they should first attempt to resolve the issue directly with the creator via in-platform messaging or by requesting a revision. If this does not resolve the issue, the business may escalate the matter to ConnectHive.

  • A dispute can be raised by a business in relation to work that does not match the service or campaign description, is of materially lower quality than described, was delivered significantly late without an agreed extension, or was not delivered at all.
  • Once a dispute is raised, the funds held by ConnectHive in relation to that campaign or service are frozen pending review.
  • Both parties may submit evidence and statements as part of the dispute process. ConnectHive's review will primarily rely on the original campaign or service description, the work submitted, and the in-platform messaging history — this is why all relevant communication must take place on the Platform as described in Section 6.1.
  • ConnectHive will review the evidence and both parties' account history, and will decide whether to release the funds to the creator, refund the business, or split the funds between the parties in whatever proportion ConnectHive considers fair.
  • ConnectHive's decision on a dispute is final and cannot be appealed.

9. Account Tiers & Gamification

ConnectHive operates a tier system for both businesses and creators, with benefits such as reduced fees, increased visibility, and access to certain features based on account activity, ratings, and (for creators) verified social reach. Tier requirements and benefits are described within the Platform and may be updated from time to time. Points earned through platform activity contribute to tier progression but have no monetary value and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for credits.

ConnectHive may run promotional features such as leaderboards, challenges, referral rewards, and platform-sponsored campaigns ("Spotlight Campaigns"). Participation is voluntary and subject to any additional terms displayed for that specific feature.

10. Boosts

Creators may purchase boosts using credits to increase the visibility of their profile or service listings within the Platform's search and matching results. Boosts affect ranking only within groups of similarly relevant results and do not guarantee bookings, views, or sales. Boost pricing is displayed within the Platform and may be updated from time to time.

11. Content & Intellectual Property

  • You retain ownership of content you upload to the Platform (profile content, portfolio items, campaign posts, service listings, messages).
  • By uploading content, you grant ConnectHive a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, display, and use that content as necessary to operate and promote the Platform.
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to any content you upload, including any products, brand assets, or reference materials provided by businesses to creators for a specific campaign.
  • Ownership and usage rights of content created by a creator for a business as part of a completed campaign are governed by the terms agreed between the parties as part of that campaign or service — businesses should check what is included (e.g. usage rights for paid advertising) before purchasing.

12. Account Suspension & Termination

  • ConnectHive may suspend or terminate any account that breaches these Terms, including for fraud, abuse, repeated policy violations, attempts to circumvent the Platform (including under Section 6.2), missed deadlines without communication, or providing false information.
  • You may close your account at any time. Any funds owed to you will be processed in accordance with our standard payment terms, subject to any open disputes being resolved first.
  • On termination, your right to use the Platform ends immediately, though certain provisions of these Terms (including those relating to payments, disputes, and liability) will continue to apply.

13. Liability

ConnectHive provides the Platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we take reasonable steps to moderate content and verify accounts, we do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, legality, timeliness, or suitability of any campaign, service, or content posted by users. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ConnectHive's total liability to you in connection with the Platform shall not exceed the greater of $100 (or the equivalent in your local currency) or the total fees paid by you to ConnectHive in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
